Preparing for your visit

♥How can I get the best ultrasound images?

We recommend drinking plenty of water for several days before your appointment. Staying well hydrated can help improve image quality.

♥Can I bring family or friends?

Absolutely! We love celebrating these special moments with your loved ones. We currently have room for up to 4-5 additional guest. Children are always welcome.

♥What should I wear?

Two-piece outfits are usually the most comfortable since we will need access to your belly. If you come in a dress, that's okay! we have towels and a blanket to keep you covered.

About your Ultrasound

♥What if my baby isn't cooperating?

Babies have minds of their own! Sometimes they like to hide , cover their face, or take a nap. We may ask you to change positions or take a short walk to encourage movement.

♥Will my images always look like the ones on your website?

Every baby is unique and so is every pregnant body. Image quality can vary depending on baby's position, gestational age, placenta placement, maternal tissue and fluid levels. Image quality cannot be guaranteed picture perfect.

♥Are 3D/4D images guaranteed?

No. While we do our very best to capture beautiful images, baby's position ultimately determines what we can see.

First Trimester

♥Will I hear my baby's heartbeat during my Little Heartbeat Session?

During early pregnancy, we will allow you to see your baby's heartbeat but do not provide heartbeat audio until 8+ weeks. This is done out of an abundance of caution by limiting ultrasound exposure during the first trimester.

♥Why are first trimester appointments only 10 minutes?

Keeping these sessions brief allows us to provide reassurance while following recommendations to minimize unnecessary ultrasound exposure early in pregnancy.

Gender Determination

♥How accurate are gender ultrasounds?

Gender ultrasounds are highly accurate when baby is in a good position and at an appropriate gestational age. However, accuracy depends on what we are able to see during your session.

♥Can you always determine my baby's gender?

Not always. Babies don't always cooperate! Crossed legs, little hands and feet, umbilical cords, and baby's position can make it difficult to confidently determine gender sometimes.

♥What if you can't see my baby's gender?

No worries! If we're unable to confidently determine your baby's gender during your session, we'll happily invite you back for a rescan.

♥Are gender ultrasounds before 16 weeks always accurate?

While gender can often be determined before 16 weeks, early ultrasounds are sometimes more challenging and may be less accurate than later scans. We always provide our best determination based on what we can see at the moment.

♥How do you determine gender?

We determine gender based solely on what is visible during your ultrasound session. We will never guess if we aren't confident in what we are seeing, we'll simply let you know and schedule a complimentary rescan rather than provide uncertain information.

♥Do you use the "Angle of the Dangle" or "Nub" theory?

The "Angle of the Dangle" (also known as Nub Theory) is a fun early gender prediction method that looks at the angle of baby's genital tubercle during the first trimester and early second trimester. While it sometimes can be accurate, it is considered a prediction rather than a definitive determination. We may occasionally discuss it for fun, but we do not guarantee its accuracy and do not use it as a confirmation of baby's gender.

Please note: Ultrasound gender determinations are based on what is visible during your appointment. Baby's position, gestational age, movement, and other factors can affect what we are able to see. Your baby's safety and providing honest, confident results will always be our priority.
